What Koel is known for
Koel was founded in 1977 to revive hand-loom weaving and block-printing in Pakistan, dyeing its silks and cottons with natural extracts from leaves, flowers, roots, and bark rather than synthetic pigments. Alongside apparel, the label makes block-printed home textiles such as ajrak chaddars and hand-spun towels, sold through its Lahore store among others.
