What La Alpargatería is known for
La Alpargatería brings a four-generation espadrille tradition from La Rioja to the Dominican Republic. Ricardo Fernández and César García opened the Santo Domingo workshop in 2011; Dominican shoemakers now hand-make and personalize espadrilles from natural jute, leather, suede and cotton canvas. The brand lists four Dominican shops, including Villa Olga in Santiago.
