What Maison Oberweis is known for
Maison Oberweis has run three generations of Luxembourg patisserie and chocolate craft for more than sixty years, and is the country's only chocolatier producing chocolate from cocoa bean to finished bar. A Relais Desserts member and court supplier, it sells pastries, chocolates and bread from nine shops including its Grand-Rue flagship.
Maison Oberweis has operated as a family patisserie and chocolatier in Luxembourg for more than sixty years, now run by its third generation of craftsmen and employing roughly 340 people across the business.
What sets the house apart is its chocolate: Oberweis is the only chocolatier in Luxembourg producing chocolate from the cocoa bean through to the finished bar, an in-house bean-to-bar operation rare among European patisseries of its size. The house also holds membership in Relais Desserts, the international guild of independent pastry chefs, and carries the title of Fournisseur de la cour, court supplier to the Grand Ducal household.
Its counters turn out both signature and seasonal work, from the Mont-Blanc, a shortcrust base layered with chestnut cream, meringue and rosehip compote, to the hazelnut-praline Petit O' shortbread and rotating seasonal ice creams, alongside breads, brioches, macarons and catering. Nine locations carry the business across the country, from the historic Grand-Rue flagship in Luxembourg City to counters at the airport and in the Cloche d'Or, City Concorde and Auchan Kirchberg shopping centres.
