Maison Sassy was launched in 2014 by two childhood friends, Xavier d'Audiffret Pasquier and Pierre-Emmanuel Racine-Jourdren, who grew up around cider as part of everyday Norman life. Xavier's family has produced cider and calvados since 1852 at the Chateau de Sassy, on the edge of the Foret d'Ecouves in Normandy, and the modern brand draws on that family recipe for its calvados, distilled and then aged at least two years in oak barrels. Sassy's ciders are made from 100% pure juice pressed from a blend of hand-selected cider apples and pears, sourced and bottled locally. The brand is stocked by retailers including Majestic Wine and Harvey Nichols in the UK.
