What Mona is known for

Belgrade leather-goods house founded 1989 by Nada and Djordje Momirovic, now run by their sons; handmade bags and jackets from Italian leather, sold through roughly 50 regional stores.

Mona is a Serbian leather-goods company founded in 1989 in Belgrade, starting, per the company's own account, 'in a small workshop of a newly established fashion house.' It was founded by Nada and Djordje Momirovic; their sons Tomislav and Uros Momirovic later took over senior roles, with Uros named general director in 2015. The company makes handbags, and previously leather jackets, from Italian leather, reportedly producing on the order of 70,000 bags a year, and operates roughly 50 stores across Serbia and neighboring former-Yugoslav markets including Montenegro, North Macedonia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Belgrade's Museum of Applied Art has exhibited Mona bags as part of the city's fashion-design history.
