Moniker General

Moniker General opened in 2016 in a 4,200-square-foot space at San Diego's Liberty Station, founded by Ryan Sisson as the flagship of what became Moniker Group -- a small constellation of businesses (Moniker Made, Moniker Design, Moniker Real Estate, Moniker Coffee, and others) built around the same retail-and-hospitality concept. Inside, custom furniture, clothing, and curated home goods share the floor with a full coffee and cocktail bar, so a visit can be a shopping trip, a coffee stop, or an evening drink without changing rooms. That combination helped shape Liberty Station's identity as a neighborhood rather than just a former naval base repurposed for retail, and Sisson has since repeated the formula elsewhere -- a North Park location opened in 2025, with a further outpost planned inside WEST, a 37-story mixed-use tower going up in downtown San Diego. The Liberty Station original remains the reference point: a single space built, by Sisson's own account, as much for community as for commerce, where the same counter pours espresso in the morning and cocktails by evening.
