The Mr. Fliks story is built around archival material from Redondo Beach, California, dating to 1967–68. Its own history and the Pitti Uomo profile trace the character to a returning Vietnam veteran who reworked vulcanized naval deck shoes and marked them with Redondo Beach references, turning military utility into a countercultural object. The present collection keeps that narrow vocabulary: retro canvas and suede sneakers whose value lies in proportion, lining, stitching and the revived graphic language rather than in a broad lifestyle range.
