What Museo Casa del Tejido Antiguo is known for
Set in the Kaqchikel-speaking village of San Antonio Aguas Calientes just outside Antigua, this combined museum and workshop teaches backstrap-loom weaving on the same looms used to produce the huipiles and textiles displayed and sold on site. Four-hour sessions walk visitors through warping the loom and reading the brocade patterns that identify a weaver's home community.
