nonnative is a Tokyo-based contemporary menswear label running since 1999. Designer Takayuki Fujii, born in Nara, studied fashion at Musashino Art University before leaving in his second year, joined as creative director in 2001, and has shaped the label's sensibility since. The line merges rugged outdoor and workwear silhouettes with finer materials and construction than typical workwear references get. Its main shop sits in Tokyo's Nakameguro area within the broader Meguro-ku district, run under parent company TNP. nonnative has also opened a shop in Osaka and periodically collaborates with other labels, including outdoor brand Gramicci.
