In Sao Pedro do Corval, the country's largest pottery village, Amilcar Grilo Dancante shapes red terracotta on the wheel and hand-paints each piece at the Ollarus atelier on Rua da Primavera. The showroom sells limited-run bowls, jugs and decorative work fired at 1000 degrees Celsius.
