What Omega is known for
Founded by Louis Brandt in 1848 and headquartered in Biel/Bienne since the 1880s, Omega made its name with the 1894 Omega Calibre, the first mass-produced watch movement with interchangeable parts. Its Speedmaster chronograph was worn during the Apollo 11 landing in 1969 — the first watch worn on the Moon.
