Ordinary People is a Seoul fashion label launched in 2011 by designer Jang Hyeong-cheol, who started the brand with roughly 30 million won. Jang's stated design philosophy is clothing 'ordinary people' can actually wear day to day, built around a classic silhouette with workwear and military detailing. In its first month the brand sold about 13 million won of stock across just four stores. Jang became the first designer from a two-year college to show at Seoul Fashion Week, in 2013, and in 2015 became the youngest Korean designer to stage a runway show at New York Fashion Week, as part of the government-backed 'Concept Korea' program.
