What Pizzeria Sorbillo is known for

Naples pizzeria on Via dei Tribunali founded in 1935 by Luigi Sorbillo and Carolina Esposito, whose 21 children became pizza makers; grandson Gino Sorbillo has run the original shop since the 1990s.

The Sorbillo pizzeria on Via dei Tribunali dates to 1935, when Luigi Sorbillo and Carolina Esposito opened it in Naples's historic center, on a street now widely known as the city's pizza row. The couple had 21 children, all of whom went on to work as pizza makers, spreading the Sorbillo name across multiple pizzerias in Naples over the following decades. Gino Sorbillo, grandson of the founders, grew up working in the family pizzeria and took over the original Via dei Tribunali shop in the 1990s after training under his aunt Esterina. He has since expanded the Sorbillo name to additional locations in Rome, Genoa, Bologna, Padua, Milan, Bergamo, Turin and Tokyo, while the Via dei Tribunali address remains the original, historic shop.
