Pleasant House Pub began as Pleasant House Bakery, opened in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood in 2011 by husband-and-wife team Art and Chelsea Jackson, serving British-inspired, locally sourced food drawing on produce from their own urban farm, Pleasant Farms. Its handmade savory pies - branded Royal Pies - built a following across Chicago. In 2016 the Jacksons relocated the business to a larger space at 2119 South Halsted Street in the Pilsen neighborhood, adding a full bar with English and other specialty ales and renaming it Pleasant House Pub. The kitchen continues to center on scratch-made British pub food.
