Rain or Shine is a small-batch ice cream shop opened in November 2013 on West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano, Vancouver, by first-time business owners Josie Fenton and Blair Casey. After noticing the craft ice cream trend while traveling through cities like San Francisco and Seattle, they brought the concept to Vancouver, where nothing comparable existed at the time. Ice cream is made in-house on an Emery Thompson churn using local dairy from Birchwood Dairy in the Fraser Valley, without artificial flavors or corn syrup. The business has since grown to locations in Cambie Village and near UBC, plus a seasonal food truck.
