Roberto Coin

Roberto Coin founded his eponymous jewelry house in 1996 in Vicenza, Italy - a city long associated with goldsmithing - after an earlier career that included hotel management and years spent producing jewelry for other brands. The house's defining signature is a small ruby cast inside each piece, placed to touch the wearer's skin; Coin adopted the practice from an ancient Egyptian belief that a ruby worn close to the body promotes long life, love and happiness.
