Santacana opened its first factory in 1896 in Madrid's Barrio de las Letras, the neighborhood that today houses its Calle Huertas boutique. The house describes its work as treating glovemaking as a craft built by hand — its own site frames the business as "construir el presente utilizando nuestras manos" (building the present using our hands) — and it maintains both the retail shop and a separate factory/headquarters operation, reachable through distinct phone lines for each.
The current product range centers on handcrafted gloves, split into a women's line (Colección ELLA) and a men's line (Colección EL), plus driving gloves, and extends to handmade hats.
More than a century after its 1896 opening, Santacana remains a single-city operation, selling from one central Madrid boutique rather than expanding into a wider retail footprint.
