Shimizu Mokuzai has processed local timber into hinoki bathtubs, sawara sushi tubs, and ohitsu rice containers in Nagiso since 1944, running production from raw log through finished piece in its own workshop. The company also cuts honoki and hinoki cutting boards and still repairs pieces it made and sold decades earlier.
