SKOG Urban Hub

SKØG Urban Hub opened in 2015 on Dominikánské námestí in Brno, founded by two local partners who wanted the city to have a genuine multifunctional gathering space rather than a single-purpose cafe or bar. The name means "forest" in Swedish, echoed in an industrial interior built heavily around wood. By day the room runs as a third-wave coffee bar with its own in-house roastery, working through direct relationships with growers toward lighter, more traceable roasts; by evening the same space shifts into a bar and kitchen, serving a vegetarian menu and cocktails without a hard changeover between the two. The operators frame the venue's philosophy around unplugged evenings, encouraging guests to put phones away and treat eating and drinking as a shared experience rather than a transaction. The space also hosts cultural events, extending its role in Brno beyond food and drink into a community hub. Long opening hours, from 8am on weekdays through past midnight on weekends, support this drift from coffee counter to bar without splitting into two separate businesses. For visitors it offers one stop that covers a specialty coffee, a full meal, and a late drink under a single roof.
