The seed for the brand came from a trip to India, where the couple connected with Colours of Nature, a dye house in Auroville working with natural materials such as babul bark, madder root and indigo. All of Story mfg.'s dyes are plant-derived, producing warm oranges, browns, blues, yellows and reds on organic cotton and linen garments.
