What The Carloway Mill is known for
The Carloway Mill on the west coast of Lewis is the smallest of the island's three Harris Tweed mills, still running a carding machine dating to 1906 and wooden finishing equipment that mills the cloth more gently than modern machinery. It produces bespoke tweed for apparel, interiors and accessories.
