What The Kishkinda Trust is known for
A community trust founded in 1998 by Shama Pawar in Anegundi, across the Tungabhadra from Hampi, whose banana-fibre craft initiative has grown from eight women to some 150 to 200 artisans. Its workshops make ropes, baskets and domestic crafts, with an export line called TIKAU and a new artisan-owned cooperative, Hari Dharti.
