The NOW Massage was co-founded in 2015 by Dutch-born entrepreneur Gara Post and her husband Jason Post. Before The NOW, Gara Post had built and sold a jewelry line carried in more than 500 stores; she brought that design and marketing background to a wellness concept centered on approachable, boutique-style massage in a designed, calming space. The first studio opened in West Hollywood in November 2015, with three more Los Angeles locations following quickly. In 2019 the Posts launched a national franchise program, expanding the brand beyond Los Angeles to multiple U.S. markets.
