Varley was founded in 2014 by Lara and Ben Mead, a couple who met in 2010 while training for the London Marathon and built the brand around that shared background in fitness. Rather than a single-city operation, Varley runs as a dual-hub business with offices in both London and Los Angeles, plus a newer New York presence. The line has grown from activewear into a broader contemporary lifestyle range: leggings, sports bras and studio-to-street pieces sit alongside knitwear, outerwear and everyday staples. Varley opened its first dedicated flagship store in SoHo, New York in October 2024, adding a physical retail presence to a wholesale footprint that already spans more than 1,000 points of sale globally.
