Vinataba Shop

Vinataba — officially the Vietnam National Tobacco Corporation — is Vietnam's state-owned tobacco enterprise, established April 5, 1985, initially as the Union of Tobacco Enterprises with four cigarette factories and several tobacco-material processing plants. It has since become the dominant force in the country's tobacco sector, with the corporation stating its domestic market share exceeds 65% of the entire industry.

The company operates as a fully vertically integrated business — by its own description, the only entity in Vietnam spanning tobacco raw material production, cigarette manufacturing, import-export, commercial distribution, and related services under one corporate structure. Since January 1, 2006, it has functioned under a parent-subsidiary company model, consolidating its various factories and trading arms under the central Vinataba holding structure.

As a state corporation, Vinataba also serves as Vietnam's primary interface with major international tobacco conglomerates operating in or trading with the country, and it plays an explicit role in national industrial policy for the sector. The company states it contributes more than 15 trillion Vietnamese dong annually to the state budget. While the corporation's own materials emphasize its market position and economic contribution, its site does not itemize individual cigarette brand names produced under the Vinataba umbrella.
