Withnell

Lancashire, UK

What Withnell is known for

Lancashire slow-fashion studio founded by Paula Roworth at the foot of the West Pennine Moors; garments are handmade to order from biodegradable British materials, each taking around 2-3 weeks to complete and finished with a name-embroidered ribbon.

Withnell is a sustainable fashion studio founded by Paula Roworth and named after the Lancashire area where she is based, at the foot of the West Pennine Moors. Every garment is made to order, using heritage British materials chosen to naturally biodegrade, with designs drawing on the colours and shapes of the surrounding Lancashire countryside. The brand runs a fully in-house process - design, fabric and trim sourcing, pattern-making and sample garments are all handled internally - and each made-to-order piece takes roughly two to three weeks to complete. Garments can be washed at low temperatures to reduce energy impact, and each piece includes the wearer's name embroidered on a bespoke ribbon.
