What Anthologist is known for

An independent cabinet-like shop of jewelry, textiles and collectible objects selected by Andria Mitsakos.

Anthologist is an Athens retail and design platform founded and directed by Andria Mitsakos, built around what the brand calls "narrating authenticity, preserving craft." Its Athens flagship occupies a carefully restored 1912 Neoclassical building in the city's Plateia Anexartisias, a space Mitsakos has shaped to read more like a gallery or private museum than a conventional shop: a light-filled first floor holds hyper-curated collections of jewelry, handbags, belts, brass objets d'art and ceramics, largely designed or sourced by Mitsakos herself and produced by artisans working across Greece. The pieces frequently combine classical Greek motifs with original contemporary design, and the flagship also functions as a working studio and occasional exhibition space; visits are by appointment. Anthologist has since expanded its model beyond the flagship, including a 325-square-metre concept, The Store at The Ilisian, inside the newly reopened Conrad Athens The Ilisian hotel -- described as Anthologist's fourth retail concept in Greece and built around an editorial, department-store-inspired format with more than 90 percent of its assortment exclusive to the space, alongside the world's first Monocle shop-in-shop. Together the two locations position Anthologist as both a boutique and a curatorial project spanning Athens' craft and design economy.
