Arpenteur

Arpenteur was founded in Lyon in 2011 by cousins Marc Asseily and Laurent Bourven, who came to the project without prior experience in the fashion industry. Their starting point was the French utilitarian wardrobe of roughly the 1920s through the 1970s — work jackets, chore coats, sailor-inspired knitwear and sportswear cuts historically made for manual labor or outdoor use — which they reworked with more refined tailoring, cleaner finishes and updated proportions rather than reproducing them as costume pieces.
