What you’ll find

What Aurlands (Aurland Skofabrikk) is known for

Aurland Skofabrikk has made leather footwear in the fjord village of Aurland since the early 20th century, and its shoemaker Nils Gregoriusson Tveranger is credited with creating the original penny loafer in 1926. The workshop still hand-sews loafers, bunad shoes, and leather bags on site, with a small factory museum open to visitors.
