What Ayukawa Kujira Honpo is known for
Direct-sale shop of Ayukawa Whaling Co. (founded 2008), selling whale — mainly minke, plus Bryde's — caught by its own boats out of Ishinomaki's Ayukawa port as frozen cuts, bacon, unesu and canned goods. The parent company filed for bankruptcy on 26 June 2026 citing falling catches and losses, so current trading status is uncertain.
