Base Protection

Base Protection was founded in 2005, starting out in Civitanova Marche before relocating its base to Barletta, in Puglia, where its main production now runs. The company added a second manufacturing site in Tirana, Albania in 2011, expanding capacity as demand for its safety footwear grew; combined output across both plants runs to roughly 450,000 pairs of safety shoes a year. Base Protection's specific technical identifier within the safety-footwear category is its adoption of the BOA Fit System, a micro-adjustable dial, low-friction lace guides and a lightweight lacing cable, all covered by BOA's lifetime hardware warranty, integrated into work shoes otherwise built to meet industrial safety-footwear standards such as toe protection and slip resistance. The BOA dial closure, more commonly associated with performance and outdoor footwear, distinguishes Base Protection's shoes from most conventional laced or velcro-strap safety footwear, letting wearers fine-tune fit without laces to tie during a shift.
