What Biscuiterie de Provence is known for
Family biscuit maker based in Saint-Maurice-sur-Eygues, Drome Provencale, rooted in an 1880s almond-trading business; bought the local Croquette de Vinsobres recipe in 1985 and formally became Biscuiterie de Provence in 1995.
The Bedouin family's involvement with Provencal almonds dates to 1883, when Joseph Bedouin began supplying herbalists with apricot kernels, cherry stalks, linden flowers and almonds. Over several generations the family's almond trade grew into whole, powdered, slivered and crushed forms sold to bakers, pastry chefs and nougat makers across the region. In 1985 the family acquired the recipe for the Croquette de Vinsobres, a local biscuit tradition, and in 1995 formally founded Biscuiterie de Provence, based in Saint-Maurice-sur-Eygues in the Drome Provencale. In the 2000s, Frank Bedouin took over the business from his father and uncle, continuing it as a family operation. The biscuiterie markets its recipes as free of additives, artificial coloring, preservatives and palm oil, built on almond expertise passed down through six generations.
