What Biti's is known for

Founded in 1982 by Vưu Khải Thành as a 20-worker rubber-sandal workshop, Biti's merged with Bình Tiên Group in 1986 and adopted its current name in 1992; now Vietnam's leading footwear brand, with four factories and exports to more than 40 countries.

Biti's began in 1982 as a small workshop of about 20 workers, started by Vưu Khải Thành and his wife under the name Vạn Thành Group, producing rubber sandals. In 1986 the operation merged with Bình Tiên Group to form Bình Tiên Rubber Works, and by the late 1980s and through the 1990s the company came to dominate Vietnam's domestic footwear market. The 'Biti's' brand name was adopted in 1992 — a shortened form of 'Bình Tiên Imex Corp., Pte., Ltd.' — during Vietnam's broader economic renovation (Đổi Mới) period. Over subsequent decades the company grew into one of Vietnam's largest footwear manufacturers, employing roughly 8,500 people across four factories, six business branches and more than 200 retail outlets nationwide, with products exported to over 40 countries including the United States, Russia, Japan and Italy. In the 2010s the brand's 'Biti's Hunter' sneaker line and an associated low-budget marketing campaign drew significant attention for revitalizing the company's image among younger Vietnamese consumers. Biti's is widely cited in Vietnamese business press as a longstanding domestic manufacturing success story rather than an importer or reseller of foreign footwear.
