What Bobbette & Belle is known for
Bobbette & Belle grew from a French macaron side business that founders Allyson Bobbitt and Sarah Bell started in 2008 after meeting at confectionery school into two full Toronto bakeshops. The bakery makes cakes, macarons and pastries from scratch, known for elaborate wedding cakes and cupcake towers.
Bobbette & Belle began in 2008 as a French macaron side business run by Allyson Bobbitt and Sarah Bell, who met at confectionery school and bonded over a shared love of baking and matching work ethic. Bobbitt had previously won a national wedding cake design award, while Bell worked as a pastry chef at the Toronto restaurant Canoe.
As customers began asking whether they could order individual pastries rather than just macarons for events, the pair expanded into full retail bakeshops. The business now makes cakes, pies, tortes, cupcakes, French macarons, breakfast pastries, croissants, scones, cookies and bars from scratch, with particular attention to elaborate custom wedding cakes and cupcake towers.
Bobbette & Belle operates two Toronto locations, on Queen Street East in Leslieville and on Yonge Street, and has been baking for more than fifteen years as a female-founded, female-owned business.
