What Cartapesta Riso is known for
Claudio Riso apprenticed under maestro Antonio Malecore before opening his own cartapesta workshop on Via Vittorio Emanuele II in Lecce's historic center, continuing a chain of papier-mâché training that runs back generations. The studio restores antique sacred statuary alongside making new saints, nativity figures and decorative pieces entirely by hand.
