What Flabelus is known for

From PRINTEMPS: a maker whose luxury, fragrance/beauty earn their place in the atlas — best judged at the source.

Flabelus's own site credits founder Beatriz de los Mozos with opening the brand's first factory in Elche, Spain, and the label has built its identity on two staples: the Mary Jane flat and the espadrille, both reworked season to season in new colors and materials. The catalog has since grown to include barefoot heels, ribbon ballet flats, a slipper line, and clothing and accessories, including a hat collaboration with Lorna Murray.

What sets Flabelus apart is its retail concept: instead of repeating one store design, each boutique is built around its own theme. Madrid alone has three — a 'library' on Hermosilla, a 'hotel' on Serrano, and a 'museum' at Caleido — while London's four shops range from a Notting Hill 'creative workshop' to a Marylebone 'bookshop.' Paris carries the idea further with a 'theatre' on Rue Bonaparte and a 'dressing table' near Saint-Honoré, and the Bilbao store sits beneath a namesake golden dome the brand calls 'El Observatorio.' The company has expanded well beyond Spain, with shops now open in New York, Miami, Mexico City, Bogotá, Santiago, Lima, and Santo Domingo, each one keeping the handmade construction at the center of the pitch.
