What Forge de Laguiole is known for
Founded in 1987 to bring knife-making back to Laguiole itself, the manufactory works in a Philippe Starck-designed building topped by an 18-meter blade. Blades are forged hot from French steel; Starck's own 1988 aluminum-handled design is now part of MoMA's permanent collection.
