Gianvito Rossi

Gianvito Rossi grew up on the factory floor of San Mauro Pascoli — son of Sergio Rossi, raised among lasts and heel blocks in Italy's shoemaking capital — and founded his own house in 2006 with an almost monastic brief: the perfect plain pump, and nothing that distracts from it. The Gianvito 105 is the result and the flagship: a single-sole stiletto of roughly sixty hand operations, cut so clean it photographs like a line drawing.

The catalogue extends the discipline rather than breaking it — the Plexi's transparent panel, suede boots with couture-grade fit, sandals reduced to two straps and conviction. No logos, no hardware theatrics; the brand identifier is the silhouette itself. Red carpets adopted the shoes precisely because they defer to the dress — every pair still passing through his own hands' standard.

Production stays in his own San Mauro Pascoli factory, family-run, unhurried. Where his father's generation built the Italian heel's drama, Gianvito built its restraint — the shoemaker's shoemaker, selling perfection with the volume turned all the way down.
