Gosha Rubchinskiy

Moscow, Russia

What Gosha Rubchinskiy is known for

Moscow-founded designer label built around post-Soviet youth style and Cyrillic branding. The label went dormant in 2018 and relaunched in February 2025 with a capsule of basics and a low-key city tour instead of runway shows.

Gosha Rubchinskiy built his eponymous label into one of the most-watched names in menswear during the 2010s, mixing Cyrillic typography, Soviet-era sportswear references and skate/youth culture, and collaborating with brands including Adidas and Comme des Garcons' Junya Watanabe. In 2018 he closed the brand following the surfacing of allegations related to his conduct with a minor over messaging. In 2024, Rubchinskiy announced he would end the label 'as you've known it' - no more seasonal runway collections - while signaling a different kind of return was coming. That return arrived in February 2025: a relaunch, seven years after the 2018 shutdown, opening with a capsule collection of T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, bomber jackets and backpacks, with jeans and coats following. Rather than formal fashion-week shows, the relaunch was built around a small, direct tour through China, Japan and the United States to meet fans, alongside a stated new casting policy meant to prevent the kind of contact that triggered the 2018 controversy.
