What Ijiit is known for

Japanese womenswear label IJIIT, launched in 2003 by designer Keiji Itakura, who opened the flagship store in Tokyo's Omotesando in 2004. Rebranded IJIIT and Co. for spring/summer 2021 around a 'timeless and comfortable' concept of relaxed, washable pieces.

IJIIT is a Japanese fashion label launched in 2003 by designer Keiji Itakura, who had earlier won the Tokyo New Creators Collection Grand Prize twice, in 1993 and 1995. Itakura opened the brand's flagship in Tokyo's Omotesando district in 2004. Japanese fashion press describes IJIIT as a womenswear line, originally built around applying menswear pattern-cutting techniques to women's clothing with an emphasis on three-dimensional construction. For spring/summer 2021 the brand rebranded as IJIIT and Co. around a timeless and comfortable concept, moving toward relaxed silhouettes and washable, easy-care materials. Itakura separately runs a menswear-focused line called The Keiji, launched in 2016.
