Isaia

What Isaia is known for

Neapolitan tailoring house that began as a fabric shop opened by Enrico Isaia in the 1920s; in 1957 brothers Enrico, Rosario and Corrado Isaia moved production to Casalnuovo di Napoli, a town where roughly half the population worked as tailors. Garments still carry the brand's signature red-coral lapel pin.

Isaia began in the 1920s as Enrico Isaia's fabric shop serving Naples' bespoke tailors, and in 1957 the brothers Enrico, Rosario and Corrado moved production to Casalnuovo di Napoli — a town where, famously, roughly half the population worked as tailors. The house industrialized Neapolitan tailoring without denaturing it: spalla camicia shirt-shoulders, sweeping lapels, jackets soft as knitwear but cut with Mediterranean swagger.

The red coral lapel pin, a Neapolitan good-luck charm, became the brand's signature and its thesis — southern Italian exuberance worn proudly where sober Milan would abstain. Cloths run bold: mohair sheens, impossible blues, checks that require confidence. Gianluca Isaia, third generation, fronts the house with exactly the persona the clothes promise.

Flagships from Madison Avenue to Milan carry the full lifestyle now — the U.S., Japan, China and the Gulf its strongest rooms abroad — sartoria at the core, sneakers and swim at the edges. Isaia sells the Neapolitan argument entire: tailoring is not a uniform, it's a mood, and the mood is festive.
