La Cure Gourmande is a French confectionery and biscuit brand whose first store opened in 1989 in Balaruc-les-Bains, a small thermal spa town in the Herault department of southern France. It was founded by Christian Berlan; since a 1992 meeting with Berlan, the company has been directed by Edouard and Florence Hennebert. All of the brand's biscuits, cakes and confectionery are handcrafted in the Herault, reworking traditional southern-French recipes such as calissons and almond 'navettes.' What began as a single production-and-retail operation has grown into a network of more than 60 stores worldwide, spanning the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
