The brand's name is drawn from Marta de Estrada Lainez, mother of Argentine polo player Adolfo Cambiaso. La Martina began by making leather equipment for polo - saddles and boots - before extending into shirts, caps, and broader ready-to-wear apparel. La Martina has also built a retail presence in Italy, including a concept store in Milan, alongside outposts in London, Dubai, Mumbai, and other markets.
