Loreak Mendian was founded in 1995 in San Sebastian by Victor Serna, fresh out of a business administration degree, and Xabi Zirikiain, an industrial engineer who had already gained local notice for a daisy-shaped logo he'd designed. Their first store opened in 1995 in San Sebastian's old town, in the city's port area, and quickly became a gathering point for the local DJ and music scene. Over the following decades the brand's design team expanded and its output matured into more considered, contemporary streetwear and outerwear, while keeping its Basque roots and the daisy branding as throughlines.
