What M K Textile Atelier is known for
Textile studio in Florence's Oltrarno district, founded 2009 by Margherita Pandolfini and Karl Jorns as La Serra MK; hand silk-screens and paints one-of-a-kind home textiles inside a converted 15th-century greenhouse.
La Serra MK Textile Atelier is a textile studio in Florence's Oltrarno district, founded in 2009 by Margherita Pandolfini, who studied fine art and sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts in London, and Karl Jorns, an architecture- and design-trained partner who had previously lived and worked in Brazil. The studio rebranded as La Serra MK in 2013. It operates out of a converted greenhouse attached to a 15th-century palace, working with silk-screen printing, hand painting and digital design to produce one-of-a-kind textile pieces for the home, made using Italian fabric and produced entirely in Florence.
