What Macon & Lesquoy is known for

Paris hand-embroidered brooch and badge house founded in 2009 by designers Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy, whose military-insignia-inspired pieces are produced by needleworkers in Pakistan and embroidery workshops in Portugal. First boutique opened near Canal Saint-Martin in 2017.

Macon & Lesquoy was founded in 2009 by Marie Macon and Anne-Laure Lesquoy, who met studying at Paris's Ecole Nationale Superieure de Creation Industrielle. Their hand-embroidered brooches and badges draw their visual language from military and royal decorations - precise, dense stitching rendered as wearable pins rather than insignia. Marie designs the motifs and Anne-Laure develops them into finished pieces, working with needleworkers in Pakistan and mechanical embroidery workshops in Portugal to produce the collections. The pair have also built collections around places they've traveled together, including Russia, Japan, Rwanda and India. After several years as a wholesale and online-only label, Macon & Lesquoy opened its first physical boutique in 2017, in the Canal Saint-Martin neighborhood of Paris - an area the brand's own material describes as having kept its village character despite gentrification.
