Maldaner Coffee opened in 2024 at Wittichstraße 7a in Wiesbaden, built around a Loring S35 Kestrel roaster and a shared co-roasting space that lets other coffee businesses roast on the same equipment rather than each investing in their own machine. The company now runs multiple venues — two in Wiesbaden, including a café and espresso bar, and a brew-and-espresso bar in nearby Mainz — alongside B2B partnerships supplying restaurants and resellers.

Its product range is organized into named lines — Daily, Funky, OnPoint, Experimental, Unicorn, Seasonal and Decaffeinated — spanning filter and espresso roasts, plus a ready-to-drink coffee option and a subscription service. The standout mechanism is ReCan, a refill packaging system the company summarizes as 'coffee for now, responsibility for tomorrow': rather than buying a new bag or capsule each time, customers refill a reusable can, cutting packaging waste per purchase.

That sustainability framing extends into the company's 'MehrFairWert' ('more fair value') initiative, which the roastery ties to transparency and fair-trade sourcing practices. Between the co-roasting space, which effectively rents out specialty roasting capacity to smaller operators, and ReCan's refill model, Maldaner positions itself less as a single café brand and more as shared infrastructure for Wiesbaden's specialty coffee scene, still in its first two years of operation.
