Maliparmi was founded in Padua in 1977 by Marol Paresi, a traveler drawn especially to Asia, together with her daughter Annalisa. The label began with ethnic-influenced bags and costume jewelry, credited as the launchpad for its nomad-inspired aesthetic. It expanded into footwear starting in 1980, and into clothing from 2000 onward - apparel now accounts for around 60 percent of the business. Annalisa Paresi, now the company's president, has led its more recent commercial development while keeping her mother's founding values.
