Minimum began in 1997 as a small retail store in Aarhus, Denmark, opened by founder Peder Tang. It grew from a shop into an independent fashion label, launching its first men's collection in 1999 and adding a women's line in 2007. Today Minimum employs more than 70 people and is headquartered in a repurposed old shipyard building at the industrial harbor in Aarhus. It sells menswear and womenswear through its own webshop and wholesale to stockists.
