Montedoro was founded in 1958 in Castellanza, Varese, Lombardy, initially producing raincoats before broadening into sportswear-influenced jackets. During the 1970s the label worked with designers including Walter Albini and Giorgio Armani. In 2003, Montedoro was brought together with Glanshirt, Zanone and Incotex under the Slowear umbrella, a group whose managing company is based in Isola Vicentina, Veneto. Montedoro today operates as one of Slowear's four specialist labels.
